At MyAppoint ("we", "us", "our"), we are committed to protecting and respecting your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect personal data in compliance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

1. Who We Are

For the purpose of data protection laws, the roles are defined as follows:

  • For Business Users (Salons): MyAppoint acts as the Data Controller of your account information.
  • For End Clients (Bookers): The Salon/Business you are booking with is the Data Controller. MyAppoint acts as the Data Processor, processing your data on their behalf to facilitate the booking.

2. Information We Collect

We may collect and process the following data about you:

  • Identity Data: Name, username, or similar identifier.
  • Contact Data: Email address and telephone number.
  • Transaction Data: Details of services you have subscribed to or appointments you have booked. (Note: We do not store full credit card numbers; payment processing is handled securely by Stripe).
  • Technical Data: IP address, browser type, and login data used to access our platform.

3. How We Use Your Data

We use your data strictly to provide and improve our services, including:

  • To register you as a new customer or business partner.
  • To process and manage your subscription or appointment bookings.
  • To send you service notifications (e.g., appointment confirmations, reminders, or support updates).
  • To detect and prevent fraud or abuse of our services.

4. Disclosure of Your Data

We do not sell your data to third parties. However, we may share your data with:

  • The Business/Salon: If you are a client, your name, email, and booking details are shared with the salon you booked with so they can provide the service.
  • Service Providers: Third parties who provide IT and system administration services (e.g., cloud hosting).
  • Payment Processors: We use Stripe to process payments securely. Your payment data is subject to Stripe's own privacy policy.
  • Legal Authorities: If required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users.

5. Data Security

We have put in place appropriate security measures to prevent your personal data from being accidentally lost, used, or accessed in an unauthorized way. We limit access to your personal data to those employees and partners who have a business need to know.

6. Your Legal Rights

Under UK data protection laws, you have rights including:

  • Right of Access: You can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Right to Erasure: You can ask us to delete your data where there is no good reason for us continuing to process it.
  • Right to Object: You can object to the processing of your personal data for direct marketing purposes.

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at the email below.
